money in design like is there any easy ways to creating more money for myself Even without having a job or having a full list of freelance clients the answer is a resounding yes and i think it’s actually a lot simpler than you think and in this video i’m going to show you all the different ways well a lot of the different ways that You can start to make money today through doing graphic on whether you’re a beginner designer or someone that’s been in the field for a While that is struggling with clients right now you know with the whole global thing that’s going on then selling templates is a great way of making money by templates i mean brand guideline templates ui templates poster design templates there are thousands of different templates you can design to make other designers lives easier Instead of thinking what a standard human who isn’t a designer wants think about what designers want and create a template there have been many times i’ve used templates for my work and there’s no shame in that that’s just what designers do not every piece of design has to be unique All the time it can be taken from a template because that’s what they’re there for it makes your life a lot more efficient and unique with these templates you can put them up on your own website such as a squarespace website i have a squarespace website where i sell Products you can also put them up on places like creative markets any website that you think of that can sell these templates you can make them and put money on there in fact i know a lot of people in the design industry that make 90 of their income through selling digital Products like templates and also if you’re a web designer selling like templates for wordpress and stuff really works way number two if you’re a designer someone who specializes in logo design or brand identity you want to practice your logo design well think of a logo project that you Want to do maybe it’s like a random fake company or something for me that could be i’ve shown you that on the channel many times it’s just a fake project to show you a few things in the tutorial if you really want to you could sell that logo By itself online with all the assets with it you may think that this is a strange thing to do and it is to a lot of people but in reality a lot of people who are starting out businesses wouldn’t mind just buying a pre-made logo already and companies are already taking advantage Of this if you’ve got like a library of like practice logos that you’ve just made for yourself for fun you can monetize that you can sell them to other people who are willing to buy it and again that could be on a website like creative market That could be on your own website it could be on dribble it could be anywhere you can sell your work to companies and if they really like it then they’ll have it obviously i’m not saying that having a logo pre-made and just buying it for like a random company Is going to be the best thing to do but if there’s a market for it you can sell that and you can do that there’s no shame whatsoever in doing that either you can make a lot of money by just selling the work that you’ve used for practice the way number three Is the most obvious way but that is client work i have so many people ask me this question of like how do you gain clients it’s one of the hardest things in the design industry at first because people generally don’t know how unless you have a presence online Or like companies that you can work with locally a few months ago i went ahead and did a webinar as a creating a course there are thousands of different design courses online i recently did a skillshare Original and that’s coming out in the coming weeks and that’s one way of me monetizing what i know so maybe if you have no clients or you’re struggling for money you may have a lot of free time on your hands as well i would use that to invest Time into creating a small class or course it doesn’t matter if you go over certain things that other people have gone over as long as your process and ideation is different and that’s the thing about my channel i’m no different to other designers i just think the way that i Teach in the way that i approach certain issues in design such as like the problem of solving logos is different to other people and that’s what makes it unique and people like
