The Streacom DA2 Mini-ITX SFF Gaming PC Build
So, I’ve always been a fan of small form-factor PCs. I love the size, the compactness, and the power that you can cram into such a small form factor. After attending a technology event earlier this year and experiencing 4K gaming at 60fps, I knew I had to build my own gaming PC. My main aim was to build a PC that not only looked great but could handle 4K gaming or high refresh rate gaming at 1440p. I patiently waited for Black Friday to buy the parts, and it paid off with significant savings. As a first-time PC builder, I wanted to ensure that I was making the right choices in terms of parts, so I sought advice from Alice from Optimum Tech, who guided me through the process.
The Streacom DA2 Case
I chose the Streacom DA2 case in matte black, which boasts a sleek and minimalistic design. The case is made from aluminum, giving it a premium look and feel. The build process within the case was smooth, with a bracket system that allows for customizable PC setups. The case offers excellent build quality and the flexibility to create a customized build.
The Hardware
For the motherboard, I opted for the Asus ROG Strix Z390-I Mini ITX for its two NVMe SSD slots and fast Wi-Fi capabilities. The Intel Core i7 9700K CPU was chosen based on a recommendation, as I’m not well-versed in CPUs. The Corsair DDR4 16GB RAM at 3200MHz in a slim profile provided ample memory for gaming needs. I installed a 500GB NVMe SSD for storage, as it met my current needs and was cost-effective. The NZXT Kraken M22 120mm liquid cooler not only keeps the system cool but also adds a visually appealing element to the build.
The Graphics Card
I opted for the NVIDIA 2080 Super for the graphics card, finding it to be a great middle ground for gaming performance. It delivers a seamless 4K gaming experience and allows for high frame rates at 1440p. With the 2080 Super, I achieved 4K 60fps in Apex Legends and 50fps in Red Dead Redemption 2, which is more than sufficient for an immersive gaming experience.
Overall, my minimal 4K gaming PC build in the Streacom DA2 case has been a success. The compact form factor, premium design, and powerful components combine to create a gaming PC that not only looks fantastic but also delivers exceptional gaming performance. I’ve been thoroughly satisfied with the results and look forward to years of gaming enjoyment with this build.
