Hey, in this video I’m going to share my three-step process that was fundamental in helping me scale my agency from zero to $80 million. One of the most critical elements in scaling a creative agency is the ability to transfer and teach your skills and values to others.
Transferring Skills
Entrepreneurship is about being a teacher and transferring your values, principles, and decision-making process to others. If you’re the bottleneck in your agency, it’s time to start teaching others how to do what you do. Look for potential candidates who possess core skills and are driven, proactive, and good listeners.
Phase One: I Do
This is where you listen and learn to where someone will shadow you to see how you do things. Identify a potential candidate and have them shadow you to observe and take notes. Debrief with them afterwards to answer any questions and address key strategies.
Phase Two: We Do
This is the hybrid option between having your person say nothing and running completely autonomously. Introduce the person to your client and invite them to ask questions, but not feel pressured to do so. Gauge their ability to work with clients and respond to tricky situations.
