iPhone X – Long Term Review
Hey what’s up guys alia here so the iPhone 10 has been up for around half a year now I’ve been using it as my main device for half a year now I basically just wanted to share my thoughts on it tell you what I think about it after long-term use so I’m not Gonna highlight everything just some of the key features some of the key things that I think are worth mentioning one of the main things is actually their name I still like to call it the iPhone X I know officially it’s called the iPhone 10 but I like to call it the iPhone X I just think it’s a cooler name calling that iPhone X it sounds sleeker and sounds sharper I understand that X is supposed to be the Roman numeral for number 10 but I still think the iPhone X sounds better than the iPhone 10 but Yeah probably the first thing we should talk about is that not the very controversial sort of design decision that Apple ended up choosing for their iPhone 10 I remember seeing all the leaks seeing the knotch and thinking to myself no way are apple going to put a knot in their Device but lo and behold they actually did when I first saw it I thought it was pretty ugly and I still think right now it still looks a bit ugly but from using the phone every day you actually don’t notice it and at the end of the day You’re still needed not to house all the little components that you need such as a camera the earpiece and all that sort of stuff and the ambient sensor and the face idea you know all this other stuff you’re gonna need to put somewhere I still think it would have looked better If it went all the way across so that was just a small bezel at the top I personally think that will look better it will look cleaner but I guess Apple wanted to go for something which is a bit more unique and to be honest it does Give the iPhone next a unique look from everyday use I actually don’t even notice the notch anymore the only time I ever notice it is when I’m watching widescreen video landscape which isn’t that often to be honest because most things are 16 by 9 the only things that Will be super wide are things like movies and stuff like that so yeah most of the time I don’t notice it and usually I don’t use my iPhone for proper media consumption you know he’s my iPad or use a proper TV or something for that I know a lot of people use their iPhones for media consumption for consuming movies and TV shows and stuff and the knotch can get in the way it’s pretty annoying most the time you have to zoom out to fit the con I think once you actually watching the Video and you’re consuming your content you just don’t notice it that not also housing space ID now after a half-year of usage I really do not like face ID I want touch ID I want it back I think face ID is just not that great the error Rate that I have with face ID is just massive he’s huge compared to touch ID touch ID the only time I’d ever get an error rate is when I had swear fingers or I had dirty fingers other than that touch IDs to work flawlessly and I could register multiple fingers with touch ID And I wouldn’t have to actually look at my device to unlock it with face ID if I have it sitting on a desk or I have this issue on a table I saw have to look over at my phone and just to unlock it which To be honest I think is a right pane one of the biggest issues I have with face idea is when I have my phone on a desk or on a table say I’m working at my computer and I’ll have my phone sort of off to the side it won’t unlock unless I Purposely sort of look over at it or I pick up the phone and make it look at me when I was using touch ID I wouldn’t have to do that all I would have to do is just put my thumb or finger on the touch ID sensor and it on the phone Easily and very very quickly I think the touch ID was actually much quicker than face ID I can see the reason why Apple have put face ideas of touch ID you know if you want a phone that’s all display you’re going to need to get rid of touch ID you’re gonna You’re gonna need to get rid of that home button I really hope that Apple end up bringing in touch ID back somehow putting it under the screen maybe we have seen another phone manufacturer put a fingerprint reader under the screen so I’m hoping Apple can do it in their next Generation maybe I personally really really like the design I really like the space great glass finish all around with this stainless steel band I think the space gray is a bit older because Apple can’t seem to decide what shade of gray they want to go for you know they keep Changing this shade of space gray but I do really like the shade of gray that Apple went for for the iPhone 10 I kind of wish they went for the same shade for the MacBook and iPad all the other devices as well and the iMac you know it Would have been great to have a Space Gray that matches of course everything but then you know when you’re messing with different materials it’s hard to get the same shade which I understand you know Mac books and IMAX are aluminium and then you have the iPhone 10 which it’s made out of glass so the shade of grey is always gonna look a bit but I really really like the look of the iPhone 10 I think it looks classy I think it looks expensive and of course it gives you wireless charging the findings definitely noticeably thicker And heavier as well if you come from an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 6 that’s the biggest thing I noticed when I switched over and to be honest that’s not an issue for me because with the thicker phone you get a better battery life and I found the battery life on the iPhone Tend to be actually very very good I can easily go through a day with moderate usage if I’m playing movies and I’m playing games of course the battery isn’t gonna last all day but if you’re just doing the odd phone call messages Instagram all that sort of stuff your Battery will definitely last the day quite easily I can take your off charger on 8:00 in the morning and I can go to bed around 11 or 12 and I’ll have anywhere between 10 to 20 percent battery left which i think is amazing it’s definitely noticeably better from The previous generation iPhone 7 with the removal of the home button Apple of course had to implement some gestures the swipe up gestures he takes you back to the home screen and the swipe up and hold shows you your most recent apps I found their gestures to be so easy to Learn so easy to use the second nature now whenever I use an older iPhone I seem to naturally seem to want to swipe up and I realize oh wait there’s a home button you know I don’t need to swipe up those gestures have just become second Nature they’re so easy to use and I think Apple have done such a good job of implementing them same with obviously the recent apps accessing recent apps I found to be…
