Hey what is up guys oli so I’ve been in my house for nearly a year now I’ve been looking for a wife I met system because my house is over two floors it’s around 1,300 square feet so you know having a normal root uh from my internet service provider just wasn’t good enough Actually it was pretty terrible I couldn’t care couldn’t even get Wi-Fi up in my bedroom even if I had the roots are in the center of the house downstairs yeah I’ve been looking for a solved mesh system I ended up going with the amplifi HD it has a main reach and Then it has two sort of mesh points and it makes one mesh system pretty much the box itself is actually pretty nice I mean they’ve done a pretty good job of making it look quite classy and expensive I’d say you have the amplifi HD logo in a sort of really nice gold Finish on the back of the box it does say it has a range of 20,000 square feet which is just crazy but I mean as I mentioned my house is only 1,300 square feet so I mean he’s a bit overkill but then I guess knowing that it covers so Much range gives me confidence that I’m always going to get the full speed that I can across my house so the way I have it all set up is that I have my main route to my office downstairs and then I have a mesh point downstairs in the Living room and an avid mesh put upstairs in one of the bedrooms that gives me very good coverage across the house it even gives me incredible coverage outside my Gary just separated from the house and that’s a few metres away so when I go to the back of the Garage I actually still get full signal which I’ve been pretty amazed at so the main room itself actually has an LED touchscreen on the front of it I haven’t actually seen this before any other rooters um this is one of the first that I’ve seen that actually has a touch Screen on the front of it which is crazy so with this little touch screen on the front you can see that the time you can see how much data you’ve used and various other information you can basically just tap to go through each screen when it comes to setting up the System I just plugged it in a plugged each mesh point in and it automatically just recognized everything I didn’t actually have to mess around with anything or make sure I press any buttons or anything it was ridiculously easy but you do need the iOS or Android App to set up you know because that’s their main way of configuring the research it doesn’t actually have a sort of web browser like most other lawyers do to configure everything if you want to take full advantage of the really do have to use the app most of the time I Tried using apps for stuff like this you know if you’ve seen web interfaces for Reuters before you know they’re absolutely terrible however amplifi HD the app that they provide is actually amazing I was super impressed by how world designer was how easy-to-use is once you get everything set up and you connect Yourself to the Russa that’ll automatically recognize everything and always show you your Rooter and your mesh points and you can name them whatever else you want as well so you can see on my screen I have I’ll see that the roots are in the middle and Then I have the mesh point upstairs and I have the mesh point – days in the living room this main screen shows you how many devices are connected how much data using in terms of download upload – so yeah it just gives you a good overview of your current network status Then the next tab is the performance tab and in this tab you can do things like check your internet speed and my internet at home really isn’t great I was still waiting for them to install fiber I’m only a few months away so I’m not too far it keeps track of other Tests you’ve done before it shows you a download speed you’re both speed on your ping which is very useful you know you don’t have to open up speed tests or some other website just to check your internet speed when you go over to the guest tab there is a lot of information Here there’s a lot of ways you can customize the sort of guest Wi-Fi network you can even do things like limit the amount of devices you can have it on for however long you like you know there’s just a lot of it there’s a lot of customization here and it’s a great Way for when you have parties or friends or whatever and you want to set them up with a guest network this is one of the easiest and best ways to do it and then you have the family tap and the family tab it shows you all your current Connected devices this is a very very useful section of the app so in here you can do things like pause the internet for devices and also prioritize their sort of bandwidth on the network so you know if you have a ps4 or Xbox or something in your PC and you want to Prioritize for gaming you can do that so it goes from gaming number one and then you have streaming which is number two and then you have normal priority which is number three so anywhere any devices that you prioritize for gaming will always get priority over everything else If you gain regular like I do being able to prioritize your gaming computer or your ps4 your Xbox it’s just incredibly useful you can make sure that even when someone else is using the internet on your network that you have priority over them you can also do Things like Google device is together so if you have family if you have kids and stuff you could say group all your kids devices together and then pause the internet for them straight away for things like if they need to come down for dinner if they need to do homework Or whatever it’s pretty useful for stuff like that you can also do things like actually set a time for when they can use the internet or not so it does give you a lot of control over and sort of grouping devices together and you know I don’t really know of any Other Wi-Fi network that go into this sort of depth when it comes to managing your devices on your network and then you had the diagnosed tab this isn’t too interesting in here you just see you know if you if if everything’s okay if there’s any problems with the network Obviously it will tell you if you if your internet is down or whatever but the Wi-Fi system is still working you know that sort of stuff so yeah the app that they provide with amplifi HD here’s one of the best and it gives you so much control over your Wi-Fi network when it Comes to range I’ve been super impressed by how great the ranges for this system obviously on the Box it lists that I can cover a range of twenty thousand square feet which is insane you know you cover like a warehouse with that sort of range But yeah I just live in a 1,300 square foot house that’s covered over two floors and I don’t have any issues whatsoever I always have full signal across the whole house I even got full signal outside in my garage which is a few meters away and I can be at the back Of the garage and I still get full signal which has been pretty incredible.
