I’ve been tracking you down on social media for what feels like years now and I’m so glad we’re here today to have this conversation. Your first book has been a constant reference for me, and I’ve seen you on the journey of writing your follow-up book, “Choose Your Story, Change Your Life”. It’s so impressive how focused you were, always writing and documenting your journey. As any creative knows, finding the right creative environment is a mystery, and I think I’ve figured out what mine is. When you talk about being so focused, it really speaks to me because I’ve learned that I need a full runway to focus on my writing. It was a total of six weeks that I only wrote, had no conference calls, no podcasts, and was responsible to no one. It’s how I write the best.

For those who don’t know who you are, can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit of your story? I’m Kindra Hall, and I’ve had the pleasure of knowing you for a while. You’re an incredible person, and it’s been so rewarding to have your support. I’m an author and keynote speaker, and my expertise is in storytelling. I’ve been telling stories since I was 11, and it’s been a transformational journey for me. I even studied the role of storytelling in organizations for my master’s thesis. I’ve always felt drawn towards the power of storytelling, and I want to remind people of its importance and help them understand what a story actually is.

There was a critical moment in my senior year of high school where I realized the power of storytelling. My grade in physics was terrible, and my only hope for improving it was to write a paper at the end of the year. I chose my topic as gravity and did extensive research at the library. I wrote the paper, fought with the cursor on my computer, and saved it on a floppy disk. It was a defining moment for me, realizing how stories could save me in various situations.
