iPhone 8 Plus Review – It’s Actually Pretty Good
Hey guys, Olia here. So, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are out now. I’ve been using the iPhone 8 Plus as my main phone for the past week and wanted to give you my verdict on it and tell you what I think of it. This review will primarily be on the iPhone 8 Plus.
Design
The design really hasn’t changed much over the years. The only difference you can see between last year’s iPhone 7 and this year’s iPhone 8 is the glass back. The reason for the glass back is for wireless charging, which is a nice addition. The glass back looks awesome, especially in Space Gray, but it is a huge fingerprint magnet. The phone is noticeably heavier due to the wireless charging and glass back, but it feels more luxurious and solidly built. The glass back also makes the phone grippier to use without a case.
Display
The display is pretty much the same as last year but seems a tad washed out when compared to the iPhone 7. Apple hasn’t included a higher resolution display, but it’s not a deal-breaker for most users.
Performance
The iPhone 8 has been hailed as the most powerful phone ever, and the iPhone 8 Plus is great for media consumption. The upgraded speakers are a nice addition but still not perfect. The absence of the headphone jack is unlikely to change, so users will need to adapt to wireless or Bluetooth options.
Camera
The camera on the iPhone 8 Plus has been rated as the best camera on a smartphone by DXOMark. The pictures and video quality are stunning, and the battery life is also impressive, easily lasting a day with heavy use. The iPhone 8 Plus is a worthy upgrade from older versions, but for iPhone 7 users, it might not be worth it unless you really want the glass back and wireless charging.
Overall, the iPhone 8 Plus is definitely a great phone with some solid improvements. If you’re due for an upgrade, it’s worth considering.
