So it’s been a while since I had gigabit internet installed at my property and I am blown away by how much faster it is. It has literally changed my life. However, my issue is with the Wi-Fi. I recently acquired an Ikea Besta unit and added wheels to make it more versatile. Now, it’s time to unbox the Amplifi Alien and get it set up. The main Wi-Fi system looks very stylish with its all matte black finish and LED at the bottom. The Wi-Fi access point is simpler in design but very big for an access point. The setup process is streamlined and the new Wi-Fi system is ready to go.

Testing Speeds

Now, let’s test the speeds directly from the router. I’m getting around 940 Mbps down and 338 Mbps up. These speeds are exactly what I expected. Now, let’s redo the speed test over Wi-Fi back at my desk.
