My Favourite Tech & Gear of 2023

So it’s that time of the year again – my favorite tech and gear of 2023. I’ve been doing these lists every year for three or four years now, and it’s just my way of sharing the tech and gear that I’ve been using and loving throughout the year. They don’t necessarily have to be brand new things that have come out this year; they’re things that I’ve discovered, used, and really want to share.

LG Ola 240 HZ Monitor

First up is the LG Ola 240 HZ monitor. I bought this monitor earlier this year for one sole reason – gaming. The two main features I wanted were OLED and 240 HZ. I’ve become a big PC gamer over the last couple of years, and I wanted the best monitor I could get. This is arguably the best gaming monitor for first-person shooters, mainly because there’s nothing else at this refresh rate, 1440p, and OLED. This monitor is just incredible. I’ve primarily been playing Overwatch on it, and the 240 HZ refresh rate, as well as the minimal response time, makes the gaming experience smooth and fun.

iPhone 15 Pro

My current daily driver is the iPhone 15 Pro. While I’m not as impressed with this phone as I was when upgrading from the 13 Pro to the 14 Pro, the iPhone is definitely the best all-rounder when it comes to photo and video. The photos that come out of the iPhone are fantastic, and this year, Apple introduced ProRes Log functionality to video, which is a big deal for professional video creation.

Insta 360 Flow Gimbal

Another piece of gear that I’ve been using and loving is the Insta 360 Flow. This AI-powered gimbal makes footage look ultra smooth and offers a range of other useful features. It’s a fantastic stabilizer for the iPhone and has made a big difference in my video creation.

Sonos Surround System

I love the idea of having a home cinema setup, and the Sonos surround system has made that possible in my living room. The Sonos Arc Soundbar, two rear AO 100 speakers, and the Sonos Sub Mini create an incredible sound experience, making it feel like having a cinema system at home.
