My Graphic Design Desk Setup 2021

Introduction

You may have seen me from this angle quite a lot, but what is from this angle in my office? What have I got down here to make all of this work? Hey guys, I’m Will Patterson. Today, I’m going to be showing you all of the stuff inside my computer desk setup, how I make videos, and the things that you need to do similar things.

iMac Setup

First of all, I’ve got an iMac on my desk. This desk is a special one because it’s a FlexiSpot desk. It’s a sit-stand one. I rarely stand with it now, but it’s a standing desk. My iMac is fully specced out, either 2017 or 2018 model. It’s very fast. I’m wanting the new one when they have a pro version. This is where it sits all the time, just outside of the picture frame when I’m doing tutorials.

Desk Accessories

Next, you might see my desk pad. I bought this on Amazon. It’s nice to have a bit of contrast with the table, and it looks better than brown. I prefer this sort of nice gray pattern on there. It’s nice and felt and soft.

Keyboard

Now, the keyboard. I’ve got a whole video coming out soon about them because I find them fascinating and important. I’ve spent a lot of money on different keyboards, testing them out. This is the Anne Pro 2 mechanical keyboard, which works for Mac and PC. It’s wireless and has different profiles, making it versatile for different devices.

Audio Setup

For audio in my videos, I have the Rodecaster Pro. This unit is a podcasting unit that adds compression on the fly and does EQ tweakings, making my voice sound better in videos. I use the Shure SM7B microphone, along with a Cloudlifter, to reduce background noise.

Bubble House App

I wanted to talk about a new social media app called Bubble House, which is like Instagram but with different features. It’s great for artists and designers to explore different creatives and see project processes.

Live Streaming Setup

I used to go live on YouTube through OBS on my iMac, but it slowed down my computer. Now, I use the ATEM Mini Pro ISO, which streaming live to YouTube. It’s also used for client presentations and Zoom calls.

Overhead Videos

For overhead videos, I use a Fuji XT3 camera mounted on a C stand, allowing me to capture high-quality content for my tutorials.
