My Last Desk Setup Tour
So I’ve had this desk set up for a few years now and in those years I’ve made a ton of changes and refined it to what I think is the best desk setup that I’ve made so far. This will actually be the last video I do on this setup as many of you will know that I’m actually moving to Dubai, so when I move to Dubai I will need an all new setup. Also, huge thanks to Nomad for being a channel sponsor.
The Desk
The desk I have here is pretty big, measuring at 180 cm wide and 80 cm deep. I wanted to get as large of a desk as possible so that I can have room for everything as well as rest my arms on it when I’m working. It’s not the highest quality desk, but it’s clean and great for the space I have.
The Frame
The desktop is screwed into a standing desk frame from FlexiSpot. The frame is quiet when moving up and down, holds up everything on the desk, especially the heavy monitor I have. It’s very sturdy and minimal wobble when typing.
The Monitor
My main monitor is the Apple Pro Display XDR, which offers a 6K resolution and 32-inch size. The sharpness and screen real estate make it perfect for design work, photo editing, and video editing.
The Laptop
The monitor is connected to my 14-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip, 32 GB of unified memory, and a 2 TB SSD. I am considering upgrading to the new M3 Max version for more storage and memory for my video projects.
The Setup
I have a two-monitor setup with my laptop connected to the main monitor most of the time. This setup works well for my workflow, giving me the screen real estate I need.
Organizational Accessories
I use a laptop stand from The Gather collection by UGM Monk to raise my laptop to eye level. Underneath my monitor, I have the Oki Wood monitor shelf for added desk space and organization.
Chargers
I have two Nomad Chargers on my desk – the Stand and the Base. The Stand charger is a premium mag-safe charger that can charge my iPhone at 15 watts. The Base charger sits underneath the desk shelf for a secondary charging spot.
