Reviewing INSANE Subscriber LOGO Designs! 😲Ep 13
The Wonka Logo Redesign
Hey guys what’s going on it’s me will patterson today I’m checking out the most upvoted of all time your designs on my subreddit. This video is brought to you by Freshbooks. So we’ve been looking at the most upvoted every week but I thought it would be might be a fun thing to do is to check out the most upvoted of all time to see what you guys have been posting. I’ve been missing some of these as well somehow Jordan, my video editor, was letting me know that I missed out on a few amazing most upvoted logos. So let’s have a look and see what you guys have brought to the table.
This one here by Danielle is a redesign of the Wonka logo. The new design is ridiculously good and I can see why it was voted as the top design of all time. The new logo is balanced and readable, with modernized and cleaned up elements of the original logo design. The mock-ups provided with the design showcase the versatility of the new logo and are a great presentation tool for clients. The use of the brand color as the single asset in all of the mock-ups is also commendable.
Feedback and Misconduct on Reddit
By the way, we have 2.8K members on the subreddit now. If you want to join, it’s completely free and you can post your work. If it gets voted, I take a look and we put it in a video. Before I go into the next one, I just want to have a word with you guys. Unfortunately, in one of my last videos, someone posted work that wasn’t theirs and they did not credit it. When you post work onto the subreddit, it is your work, and if it isn’t, you must state that in the title. Stealing work is not acceptable and will result in a ban from the subreddit and the channel.
A Logo for a Design Agency
This next design was posted one month ago with 70 upvotes. It’s a logo for a design agency and it looks unreal. The modern, clean, and cute design is well-simplified while still maintaining a geometric and typographic balance. The customized type and use of gridding are also nicely executed, as it adds clarity to the design.
Minimal Logo Design for a Creative Experience Agency
Another design posted five days ago with 59 upvotes is a minimal logo design for a creative experience agency, Snake Bite Studios. The design concept of the snake as an icon that forms the letters ‘S’ and ‘B’ is impressive. However, the use of orange gradients may not translate well in black and white, and the logo may appear more like a vintage monogram in monochrome.
Vincent Van Gogh Inspired Logo
Next up, we have a logo inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. The design has a painting-like quality and uses muted colors to achieve a vintage aesthetic. The use of the swirling lines in the logo is reminiscent of Van Gogh’s famous paintings. However, the negative space in the logo could be thicker, especially for scalability, and rounding off some corners could further modernize the design.
Before we go into the next one, I just want to thank the sponsor of this video, Freshbooks. If you’re a designer taking on client work, especially if you’re a freelancer or working in a small creative agency, Freshbooks will save you countless time doing all your invoicing.
